I am currently looking for a Ph.D. candidate to work on density gradient experiments in cryogenic helium in a glass cryostat. The full profile can be downloaded here (in French). The aim is to adapt visualisation methods known in water, such as schliering or shadowgraph, to cryogenic liquid helium, and set up unprecedented turbulent thermal convection and internal gravity waves experiments. The work can start in september 2019 and is funded by the CryoGrad JCJC ANR grant. Do not hesitate to contact me if you are interested. See offer on the CNRS Jobs portal.
There is an opportunity for a bachelor or master student to do a summer internship in our lab. The project is the local characterization of turbulent thermal plumes. Internship allowance is funded by the CryoGrad JCJC ANR grant. The full profile can be downloaded here (in French).
